An illustration, not a promise: what you earn depends on how many pieces sell. By default your share is one third of every first sale and about one sixth of every resale price, before payment fees and taxes. If you choose to give part of your share to the cause, you earn less and the cause receives more.

When a collector resells a piece through Purpose, the sale is split 50/50: half goes to the seller, and half goes into the royalty pool. The royalty pool is shared again exactly like the first sale: as agreed when the campaign was set up, or in equal thirds by default.

Your share is yours. But if you’d like to do even more for the cause, you can choose to give part of your share to the cause partner, from a small percentage up to all of it.
You decide when the campaign is set up, and your choice is recorded with the campaign. Whatever you give goes to the cause, never to Purpose.
“I’m giving half of my share to the cause.” On a US$15 piece, the cause then receives US$2.50 more from that sale, and you keep US$2.50.

Is it free to join?
Yes. No fees and nothing to buy. Purpose earns its own share of each sale, so we only earn when your collection sells.
How much do I earn?
One third of every first sale by default. On every resale, half goes to the seller and half into the royalty pool, which is shared in the same split as the first sale, so you receive about one sixth of every resale price. Your share is fixed when the campaign is activated.
When and how am I paid?
Your share is paid out every month to your bank account. You can follow every sale in your Purpose account.
What do I need to create?
One base artwork and several layers, such as backgrounds, colours or accessories, that sit behind or in front of it. Purpose combines them into unique pieces. We show you exactly how, with an example.
Who owns the artwork?
You do. You keep the copyright in your artwork. You give Purpose an exclusive licence for the campaign artwork, so Purpose can produce the collection, sell the pieces on your behalf, make merchandise and look after resales for years. You are always credited as the Artist, and your other work stays entirely yours.
Is there an agreement?
Yes, a short Artist Agreement in English and Bahasa Indonesia that you accept when you apply. You keep the copyright, Purpose sells your collection on your behalf, and you are paid monthly. Read the Artist Agreement.
Can I choose the cause?
Purpose matches Artists and causes so each collection fits. You see the campaign before it goes live.
Can I give my share to the cause?
Yes, any part of it, up to all of it. It goes to the cause partner, never to Purpose.
Do I need to know about crypto?
No. Supporters pay by card and local payment methods, and you are paid to your bank account.
Is my income guaranteed?
No. You earn a share of what sells, so results depend on the collection and how widely it is shared.
